How Do I Test the SMS Module?
You can easily test the automated Text Message appointment reminders MyPatientScheduler sends your patients.
Please note, normal charges apply to test calls. All test calls are placed immediately without regard to your other Voice Configuration settings.
- Log into the Admin Dashboard
- Select the SMS Configuration menu option
- Select the "Show Test Criteria" link near the bottom of the page
- Enter test information

- 1. Enter Patient Name
- Enter a patient first name to be included in your test SMS message. This name will be used in place of the <PATIENT_NAME> placeholder in your SMS Greeting.
- 2. Enter or select an Appointment Date and Time
- Enter or select an Appointment Date to test with your call. This date will be used in place of the <APPOINTMENT_DATE> placeholder in your SMS Greeting.
- 3. Enter a test Cell Phone Number
- Enter the cell phone number you wish MyPatientScheduler to to send the test message to. Of course, this phone must have text messaging available.
- 4. Send the Message
- Select the "Generate Test Message" button to immediately send the message.
- The call is placed to the number you entered above. The confirmation code that appears in the test message is replaced by a unique number when actual appointment reminder messages are generated. Confirmation codes in test messages are simple place holders, you cannot confirm any appointments with them. Each confirmation code is unique to an appointment.
