What is Real Time Appointment Scheduling?
Have you ever made an airline reservation online? Select a departure/arrival destination and travel date, and the system gives you back a list of available flights. MyPatientScheduler Live works the same way. Patients choose an appointment type, date, time, and day of the week they want to make the appointment on, and MyPatientScheduler Live responds with a list of available appointments matching their criteria and your schedule's availability. The patient chooses an available appointment time from the list and MyPatientScheduler Live books the appointment.
How Does it Work?
Using the procedure codes and list of providers associated with the Appointment Type, and the date/time information supplied by the patient, MyPatientScheduler Live makes a secure call to its companion Connector located inside your office, which in turn makes a call to your office schedule to determine availability of the appointment request. The Connector determines the availability of the provider(s) and associated operator(ies) in a matter of seconds and securely sends back a list of appointment times that are as close as possible to the patient's original request.
If the patient does not supply an appointment request date while checking availability, MyPatientScheduler will respond with the next available appointment times.
When the patient chooses an available appointment time from the response list, the availability of that appointment time is checked again prior to actually booking the appointment to avoid any possible conflict with the practice management system.
They new appointment will occupy a slot on the schedule just as if it were booked using your practice management system.
